Where: Contra Costa Civic Theatre
951 Pomona Ave El Cerrito, CA 94530
When: January 22 - March 11, 2012
Time: Sundays, 10am to 12pm Ages: 13-18

In this series of classes, students will study the oft-forgotten art of making things up. With an eye towards producing a cohesive performance group, the class will use games, exercises, and a whole lot of general silliness to build a foundation of important improv skills. Topics will include narrative structure, status play, audience interaction, gibberish, mime, and more! No experience necessary.
About the instructor: Austin Zumbro has studied, performed, and taught improvised theater all over the Bay Area, including BATS and SF Sketchfest. After four years as a member of the Stanford Improvisers, Austin graduated with a BA in Human Biology. Since then, he has worked with groups of all ages, from stodgy old business executives to three year-olds, but refuses to draw the obvious parallels between them.
